A few days ago I announced a new website – what I’m calling a ‘Supporters Portal’.

Basically you can sign up for a small monthly amount ($5 or $10) and receive access to some bonus features. These include early video access, work in progress updates and extra footage / photos. There is also a free tier for email updates and some limited preview content.

It’s similar to how Patreon works but instead self-hosted running my own instance of Ghost. This is to maximise flexibility, privacy and security, as well as minimising fees (see the full comparison here).

I will still publish content on this blog as normal and the email subscriber list here will continue to work as before.

To be clear this is a completely voluntary system. I don’t want to turn this into any kind of mandatory payment or subscription but rather a ‘pay as you want’ contribution setup. I am not putting main videos, blog posts, etc. behind a paywall.

With that in mind, you are very welcome to sign up as either a paid or free supporter but please don’t feel obliged to do so. I greatly appreciate all the support from all channels.

This is all quite new to me so I’d appreciate any feedback if you have it.
